Italy has always been a good destination for summer vacations with its beautiful countryside, coasts and beaches, the majestic historical sites and the rich cuisine. It would be an awesome idea to be able to regularly come back, and one way to do that is to purchase a piece of real estate. Italy has plenty properties available that would make great summer homes. 

Italy, as a summer destination needs no introduction. The country is a great place to visit any time of year thanks to its Mediterranean climate. And because of the country’s popularity with tourists, accommodations tend to get scarce, especially in Florence and Rome. April, when Easter usually occurs is naturally crowded. Accommodations tend to get scarce during this period making it a good idea to actually own one. 

The main question is, can expats and foreigners own a piece of Italian real estate? Italy does allow foreigners to own properties with few legal restrictions. The process to purchase property is considered simple and straightforward. With a good real estate agency to assist, expats should have little problem in owning a summer home in one of the most popular countries to visit in Europe.
