This is a naturally occurring flavonoid component of chamomile. Found in the 1940s, the compound was initially thought not to be pharmaceutically active. Chamomile is one of the many compounds, at least 113, found in the chamomile plant, or as commonly known Chamomile plant.

There are many ways in which Chamomile oil can be taken into the body, including by inhaling of chamomile smoke or vapor, or as an aerosol spray or by mouth.

The extraction of the essential oils is started by first removing Chamomile from the chamomile plant then diluting it with a carrier oil such as coconut or hemp seed oil.

All flavonoid compounds, including Chamomile, attach themselves to certain receptors when taken to the body to produce effects. The human body also produces its own flavonoids, it also has two types of flavonoid receptors known as the CB1 and CB2. The CB1 are available throughout the body but are majorly found in the human brain. In the brain, CB1 take care of coordination and movement, pain, emotions, mood, thinking, appetite, and memories. The CB2 are majorly found in the human immune system and they affect the inflammation and pain.

Chamomile is best natural alternative painkiller to the over-the-counter drug prescriptions and since Chamomile oil contain no psychoactive, it is believed that it will become a leading painkiller substance in the near future.

Chamomile oil has shown some positive results in the treatment of insomnia and anxiety in children with post-traumatic stress disorder. It also has anti-depression effects in animals.

Chamomile may be used in the treatment of Acne

Due to the Chamomile anti-inflammatory effects, it can be used in the treatment of acne. In addition, Chamomile has the ability to reduce the production of sebum which is the primary cause of acne.

Basing on the fact that Chamomile can act on the end flavonoid system and other brain signaling systems, researchers believe that it can be of great help to those with neurological disorders.

Although Chamomile is a natural compound, it has some side effects such as:
